Maybe Macon, Georgia & the Allman's House

Angel (on the phone with Gabriel): "I just finished the video where you rented a Harley Davidson and we went to the Oasis Restaurant. Like, 5 seconds ago. I just put it on my new YouTube channel. It's only been, what, how long, 3 years? I thought you'd want to see it."

Gabriel: "Hold on, just a sec. I'm driving. I just have to...there, ok. I've wanted to see that video we took for forever! I'll go home tonight, make a cup of tea, relax, and enjoy it!"

Angel: "I've been uploading a lot of videos. It's about time, don't you think? We started this, when? 2014. I have SO many. Did you watch the other one I sent you? I sent you the video of you and Jim."

Gabriel: "That place burned down. What was it called? I like Jim. Jim likes cats. He talks to me about cats."

Angel: "It was called Mojo's Icehouse. Lago Vista. I saw a picture of Angel on your page (he named his black cat, "Angel," yes, after me). She is SO healthy her fur just glistens. It glistens. You love her SO much and it shows in the pictures. You take SUCH good care of her. Her fur is unreal. It just glistens."

Gabriel: "I love all my cats, I have 3 now. I love Daisy and Sunshine too. Did you see my Facebook page? I played drums with Mike Owings, recently."

Angel: "No, I didn't see it. I go to your page now and then, not all the time. But I eventually see everything you post. You need to look at MY page. I just wrote a short-story about you and Mike Owings. It's on my page right now. Where did you play at?"

Gabriel: "I work so much, no, I haven't seen it. We played Bike Week. (This is October, of course he did. He's played the Daytona Beach Bike Week every year I can remember, back to when I met him in the early 2000s.)

Angel: "I'm going to your page now. Oh, yes, I see it. I'm going to his wife's page...that guy who took the video tagged her...She has a beautiful house. No, that's the Allman's House in Macon, Georgia. It's a museum now. She's posting about that."

Gabriel: I wish Dave Hlubek was still alive." (founder of Molly Hatchet; Mike played with a Lynyrd Skynyrd guy, the one that wrote "Free Bird," Allen Collins. Mike was in the Allen Collins band. That's just the beginning of his accomplishments. He's a Southern Rock legend, like Dave Hlubek.)

Angel: "Dave LOVED you. (The first time Dave Hlubek ever saw Gabe play was at a Daytona Beach Bike Week. He actually walked out of the crowd, climbed up on the stage, uninvited, walked over to where Gabriel was playing drums, and just stood there on the stage watching Gabe play. He LOVED Gabe. After that Gabe started driving to Jacksonville, Florida and playing with the Southern Rock legends Dave knew.) "Mike probably loves you because Dave loved you."

Gabriel: "Mike wants me to go to Macon and record with them. I'm so busy..."

Angel: "When?"

Gabriel: "November, sometime. He's waiting on me to tell him."

Angel: "I may have some of your airline ticket money left in our account, I'll check. (When you buy a ticket and cancel it it goes into your account. I've been flying Gabe to Austin from Orlando, also since 2014. We're used to this. It's what we do.) Why don't you drive your Corvette? Macon's not that far from Orlando."

Gabriel: "I don't want to put the miles on it."

Angel: "I know. You are so stingy with that Corvette. I think you let me ride around the block with you. Once. But I understand. You want to keep the mileage low so the value stays high. You take care of that Corvette just like you take care of Angel (his black cat)."

Gabriel: "It's not just that. The roads are really bad around here. I don't want to damage it. The people can't drive, either."

Angel: "Well, I'll check on tickets. Don't tell him anything yet. I'm not committing to anything. But it WOULD make a terrific episode for "Texas Tales from a Lone Star." I WAS going to film Mike, that time, and never did. Even if I just filmed the Allman House Museum with you going in, or maybe with you guys there. That would be enough. That would make a terrific episode. I'll check on it. Maybe I'll get the tickets and rooms if you want to do that."

Gabriel: "I really want to fly to AUSTIN. Hey, Mike and I could both fly to Austin and you could get us a gig at the Oasis, or what were those other places we went to?"

Angel: "Lone Star. I sent you the video I just made there. It's one of our best."

Gabriel: "Yeah, but what's that other place, where we met Rick Plester?" (I had taken Gabe to see Rick play because he is one of the very top musicians in Austin, Gabe's speed. I already knew him a little, through musicians. I introduced Gabe to him after his performance. We'd wound up in Rick's car, with Gabe and Rick talking a million miles per hour about music and me and Rick's girlfriend in the back seat, chatting about music guys - them. We sat there in the parking lot of the venue for 3 HOURS waiting on the guys to get tired of talking.)

Angel: "That was Rumi's in Jonestown."

Gabriel: "Even if they just paid us (blank; a lot) it would be worth it. Any of those places would love to see Mike perform. You should ask them, set it up."

Angel: "You're right. There are a LOT of places around here that would LOVE to see Mike and you, both. Jim plays those places. Ask Jim, not me."

Gabriel: "We could bring the whole band out...(he's really getting into his ideas; I have previous experience with that)."

Angel: "You always have GREAT ideas. You just are way beyond me, what I can actually do. Like when you wanted me to film Mike. That was way beyond what I could actually DO at the time. It made a terrific STORY though. I wrote the STORY. I'm going to check out the Macon, Georgia idea though. I think I might could do that."

Gabriel: "Well, you know you're always welcome. I'll tell the guys."

Angel: "No, not yet. Let me check it out. I'm not committing yet. People PAY YOU. You seem to think I know how that works. I don't. People NEVER PAY me. I do everything I do because I want to do it and I pay for it. I don't have that much. But I pay for everything. I don't even know HOW to get people to PAY me."

Gabriel: "It's easy. You just make them think you have something they want."

The next day...

Angel (Message to Gabriel: Here's your itinerary. I got your ticket to Macon. If the date's not good tell me fast before the prices increase. That was the date that fit my points we've built up. xo)

Gabriel: (Message to Angel): A heart.
