When my children were little I started decorating the kitchen counter for each Birthday. I’d put a streamer around the edges, add flowers or balloons, and put their wrapped presents there. Then we’d have Birthday cake and sing Happy Birthday! and whosever Birthday it was would blow out the candles and make a wish. If we had little ones at the time I’d buy them a present or let them help open some and help. I told my daughter, Skye, my last “little one” of four children, now grown, and the mother of her own six year old, my grandbaby, Lai, “All I want to do this year is our Birthday counter, and not too big, no big balloons, just small, like maybe Bath stuff, chocolate, and wine.” So waking up felt like Christmas morning. Skye has the most wonderful heart. She has always added her own loving touch with the perfectly said beautiful cards she picks. Then she adds her own sweet and perfect words. That’s what I woke up to this morning, my Birthday, September 8. Happy Birthday & Thank you! xo Angel
