I just confirmed the Gaylord Opryland Resort for Laileigh and myself, tomorrow, Sat., and Sunday. I just checked us in on the plane. I just made a hair appointment in Nashville for Sat. I checked all the instructions on the Dinner with Dreamer's invitation. We're good! SO this will be one of the very best Dinner with Dreamers events I've gone to. I became a member in 2017 and have attended several, including the first inaugural cruise last March from Miami to Jamaica, to Grand Cayman. I wrote a host of short-stories about all of the adventures.
I bought Lai a new beautiful outfit to wear that matches mine. Tomorrow we fly to Nashville. Saturday we attend the 10th Anniversary Dinner with Dreamers incredible event with so many interesting people, movers and shakers culturally, especially in film and media. It will be at the Johnny Cash Hideaway Farm, where we've been before. We'll be inside Johnny's house, his barn, standing beside his old Cadillac he wrote the song about, on his tour bus, chatting with Dreamers from across the country and eating a buffet everyone brings a dish for. Old friends and new will be there. Last time I even played Johnny's acoustic guitar, which the owners of his house took out of it's special case and handed to me. I almost tuned it then decided I better not, just in case, and carefully handed it back. We had a songwriter's in the round and I joined in with several songs I've written.
Laileigh is beyond excited because all I've really shown her so far is the Gaylord Opryland Resort and our room with a balcony that overlooks the interior with all its waterfalls, shops, restaurants, sidewalks, and foliage. It is beautiful. "Does it have a swimming pool, Grandmama?" Yes, heated. First thing I searched for, lol.
On Sunday I've already contacted Evins Mill, my former property an hour east of Nashville, that I call, "Chapelgate." They are expecting Laileigh and me on Sunday. I took Lai there on her first birthday, now she's 7. This time she will be able to grasp what Grandmama, me, is talking and writing about so much. The illustration I had drawn for the property graces my wall, and has for decades. It's the cover of my book, "Chapelgate, a Spiritual Memoir." It's the setting for my stories including my children's book and the prequel, "Island," and my hundreds of songs about God, "The Songs of Chapelgate." This is a wonderful trip. I'm sure it will bring stories to my fingers to write. You can read all my previous stories on my website and find links to buy my books.
